Miles isn't locking my apps

Miles needs Screen Time access. Go to Profile › Focus & blocking and turn it on. iOS asks for your passcode to confirm. Calls and emergency contacts always get through.

My notes didn't show up

Miles needs the internet to write them. If class had bad Wi-Fi, the audio waits on your phone and uploads when you're back online; your notes appear about a minute later.

I need my phone during class

Tap End Class and choose “I need my phone”, or use an emergency unlock from the lock screen if your settings allow it. In strict mode, class can't end early by design.

How many classes can Miles take notes for?

Up to 120 hours of class a month, which is more than a full course load. During your first week, up to 30 hours. Past that, Miles keeps listening and saves what was said; the notes pick up again next month.

Which iPhones does Miles work on?

iPhone 12 and newer, including the iPhone SE (3rd generation), with iOS 26 or later. Miles turns your lecture into text right on the phone, and older iPhones don't have the chip for it.

Is my lecture audio uploaded?

No. Miles turns the lecture into text on your iPhone, and only the text is sent to write your notes. If that ever fails for a piece of the lecture, for example while the language is still downloading, that piece of audio is sent to be transcribed and isn't kept. See the privacy policy.
